A water shed is an area that drains to a common body of water, such as streams, lakes, aquifers or even down to the ocean. When water comes down as rain and flows down it can takes all of our trash. When we litter and it rains, it takes all that trash and it can possibly kill animals, because it's starting to get the water all dirty and animals won't be able to drink the water anymore in places like lakes that have been polluted by trash. This same water is flowing into oceans. A watershed is also where our water goes. A watershed is an area of land where all of the water drains into the oceans.
